The Drop-In Conservatory Roof Upgrade
Ultra Panels are made-to-measure insulated PVC roof panels that replace the glass or polycarbonate sheets in your existing conservatory roof. The frame stays exactly where it is. The old sheets come out, the new insulated panels go in, and your conservatory becomes a room you actually want to sit in.
Each panel has a rigid XPS insulated core sandwiched between two durable PVC skins, custom-cut to the exact dimensions of your roof. That construction is what does the heavy lifting: it cuts heat loss in winter, blocks heat gain in summer, knocks the volume off rain noise, and stops the glare that turns your conservatory into a greenhouse from May to August.

How They Work
How a Drop-In Panel System Works
A traditional conservatory roof relies on two materials that perform badly: polycarbonate (cheap, but a poor insulator and noisy in rain) or glass (looks nice, but radiates heat in both directions and gives you no relief from sun glare).
An Ultra Panel solves both problems with one component: a sealed PVC sandwich panel with a rigid XPS foam core in the middle. The PVC handles the weatherproofing, the foam handles the insulation, and the panel as a whole is light enough to sit in the same aluminium glazing bars that held your existing sheets.
Crucially, no structural work is needed. Your conservatory frame, walls, brickwork, doors, and windows all stay exactly as they are. We measure, manufacture, and fit — and most jobs are signed off the same day we start.
The headline thermal figure is a U-value of around 1.0 W/m²K across the standard panel — which is roughly 80% better than the polycarbonate it’s replacing. It won’t match the 0.15 W/m²K you’d get from a full tiled roof, but it’s a transformative improvement on what you’ve currently got, at a fraction of the cost and disruption.

Choose Your Finish, Inside and Out
Each panel has two faces - the one you see from outside, and the one you see when you're sat underneath it, so you choose a finish for each. We bring physical samples to your home visit so you can hold them against your existing roof line and brickwork before you decide.
Exterior Finishes
- White - the most popular choice. Clean, bright, suits white and cream conservatory frames.
- Slate Grey - a contemporary look. Works particularly well with anthracite or grey window frames, and gives the roof a deliberate "tiled" appearance from the kerb.
- Copper Brown - a warmer tone. Pairs well with traditional brickwork and older conservatories where pure white would look stark.

Optional Upgrades
Standard Ultra Panels already do the main job - insulation, weatherproofing, glare reduction. But there are two upgrade layers worth knowing about, depending on what's bothering you about your current conservatory.
Acoustic Layer
If rain noise is the main thing driving you mad, this is the upgrade for you. A sound-deadening layer built into the panel knocks the racket of heavy rain down to something closer to what you’d hear in a normal room. We’d recommend it if your conservatory faces an exposed direction or sits under a flight path.
Security Layer
A reinforced layer inside the panel that makes the roof significantly harder to breach from above. Worth considering if your conservatory is overlooked, accessible from a flat extension roof, or simply if security peace-of-mind matters to you.
