What Is the Aura Roof System?
A Lightweight Timber Roof, Built for British Homes
The Aura Roof System is a timber-framed, fully insulated tiled roof designed to replace the polycarbonate or glass roof on your existing conservatory. It sits on top of your current frame, so there’s no need to tear the whole conservatory down, just the roof comes off, and a new one goes on in a matter of days.
We chose Aura after looking at every system on the market. It’s manufactured in a 10,000 sq ft facility in Worksop using FSC-certified British timber, it’s Building Regulations approved, and the thermal performance is genuinely a class above the aluminium-framed alternatives most of our competitors fit.
In short: it’s the roof system we’d put on our own conservatories. Which is why it’s the only one we install.
Why Timber, Not Aluminium
Why We Build Roofs in Timber
Timber has been holding roofs up in this country for the best part of a thousand years. Westminster Hall, built in the 14th century, is still standing on its original oak roof – proof that when timber’s done properly, it lasts.
But the real reason we use it isn’t tradition. It’s physics.
Aluminium — the material most replacement roof systems are built around — conducts heat at 205 W/m²K. Timber conducts heat at 0.16 W/m²K. That’s over a thousand times less.
In plain English: an aluminium-framed roof needs to be smothered in insulation to perform well, because the metal frame itself acts as a thermal motorway, pulling warmth straight out of your room. A timber-framed roof starts the job already insulated, before a single insulation panel goes in.
The result is a roof that holds its temperature evenly, doesn’t develop cold spots around the joists, and feels comfortable to sit under in February or August.

The options
Choose a Tile That Suits Your Home
Your new roof should look like it belongs on your house, not like a kit was bolted to it. The Aura system gives you two tile finishes to choose from, both lightweight, both weatherproof, both with manufacturer-backed warranties. We bring physical samples to your home visit, so you can hold them up against your existing roof tiles and brickwork before you commit.
Liteslate
The slate-look option. Made by Britmet, a British roofing manufacturer with decades of trade behind it, Liteslate is produced from 94% recycled polymers and finished with authentic riven edges. At street level it’s all but indistinguishable from natural slate, but it weighs a fraction of the real thing, which is what makes it suitable for a conservatory roof in the first place.
Available colours: Slate · Ash · Oak · Sunshine · Sunset · Amethyst · Charcoal
Shingle
The wider colour range, with a tile profile that sits well on both traditional and modern properties. The shingle finish gives a bit more visual texture than slate, and it’s our most popular choice for homeowners who want their new roof to add character rather than just blend in.
Available colours: Raven · Titanium Grey · Rustic Terracotta · Bramble Brown · Rustic Brown · Tartan Green · Rustic Red
